[How to] Tweak Registry in Windows 7, Vista and XP with free WinSecret
Friends, most of the time inexperiensed users are hesitant to go to Windows Registry and modify the values. You may want to customize various Windows settings as per your requirement. Below are some of them.
For Internet explorer : Restricting a user from deleting Internet Explorer History Items, Preventing users to View Website Source, Disable menu option File->Open, Tools->Internet options etc
For Control panel : Disable access to entire control panel, Disable access to options like Add hardware, Add Remove Programs etc.
For Start menu: Disable recent documents folder, Hidefrequently used application list, Changing transparency level for windows Taskbar etc.
and many more.
Even for an experienced user, it’ll take some time to find Registry keys where to make the changes. Apart from this, it is a tedious task to go to Registry every time you want to change a settings. Moreover, changing a wrong value in the registry may cause an unpredictable problem to your Windows.
Here comes a freeware called TweakNow’s WinSecret 2009 for the rescue. It’ll let you customize various Windows settings in a very user friendly manner in just a click on the mouse. TweakNow’s WinSecret 2009 has the most popular Windows XP/Vista registry settings and provide them for you in an easy and safe user interface. All settings are divided in the following sections:

Once you click on any section, you will see various settings which you can enable/disble with a click on mouse. For example, if you click on ‘Applications’, below window will appear giving you the option of customizing various Internet Explorer settings.

Similarly, other sections provides you with a number of tweaking options. Just go to each section and explore.
