Asia to get first cloud computing center in Taiwan

Software giant Microsoft Corporation has announced to co-develop Asia’s first cloud computing center in National Chiao Tung University in Hsinchu (Taiwan), in association with Executive Yuan’s Networked Communications Program (NCP).

As reported in a Taiwanese Daily, Taipei Times, Microsoft Taiwan general manager Davis Tsai said that since this would be a 10-year project, no initial investment amounts had been allocated yet. But the funding of the project would be shared between the government and Microsoft in a 1:3 ratio. He added, “Microsoft will not put a claim on any intellectual property that arises as a result of this alliance.”
