Intel Acquires Software Company RapidMind
Intel, a well known name in chip manufacturing, has aquired RapidMind.
RapidMind is based in Waterloo, Canada, whose Multi-core Development Platform simplifies the development of parallel applications, reducing the cost and timelines of software development when compared to multi-threaded projects, and greatly improves the likelihood of project success.
Intel has acquired the Rapidmind products and technology. Rapidmind proved itself to be an innovative company with advanced technology for helping software developers with data parallel programming for multicore processors and accelerators,as written by James Reinders on Intel in his blog.
Intel intend to work together with RapidMind’s team for the integration of Rapidmind and Intel Software Products including Intel Ct technology for data parallelism.
